2023/24 Awarded Funding

The 2023/24 Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF) awarded $2.04 million to support 45 new and returning TLEF projects (13 Large Transformation projects and 32 Small TLEF Innovation projects), including 6 Large TLEF project teams who responded to the Special Call for Hybrid and Multi-Access Course Redesign Projects. Projects were submitted by faculty, staff and students across the UBC Vancouver campus. An additional 17 projects teams were awarded TLEF funding as part of the Special Call for Universal Design for Learning Fellows Program. These projects were nominated by UBC Vancouver Faculties to participate in the new UDL Fellows Program this year.

2023/24 Faculty, Staff and Student Engagement

The TLEF actively engages with teaching and research faculty across the university as well as support staff who provide consultation and development support throughout the life of TLEF projects.

In 2023/24, approximately $1.15 million in TLEF-awarded funding will employ over 175 UBC students to support the development, implementation and evaluation of TLEF projects.

2022/23 Student Reach

TLEF projects funded in 2022/23 reached 16,178 students in Small TLEF Innovation projects and 14,201 students in Large TLEF Transformation projects. Overall, the projects reached 149 courses (undergraduate and graduate) and 302 sections across 10 Faculties at the UBCV campus, impacting 30,379 enrolments and 18,818 unique students.*
