2025/26 Awarded Funding

The 2025/26 Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF) awarded $2,436,139 to support 66 new and returning TLEF projects (16 Large TLEF Transformation projects and 53 Small TLEF Innovation projects). Proposals were submitted to the TLEF call for funding by faculty, staff and students across the UBC Vancouver campus.   

The 2025/26 Large TLEF Transformation projects funding round included a special call to support UBCV project teams interested in experimenting with Generative AI (GenAI) in teaching and learning.  11 Large TLEF Transformation projects were funded as part of the Special Call, along with 2 returning Large TLEFs.  An additional 8 Small TLEF Innovation projects were funded to work on GenAI-related projects.

An additional $130,000 was awarded to support 13 project teams as part of the 2025 Special Call for the Universal Design for Learning Fellows Program. These projects were nominated by UBC Vancouver Faculties to participate in the 3rd UDL Fellows Program cohort that will launch in Spring 2025.

2025/26 Faculty, Staff and Student Engagement

The TLEF actively engages with educational leadership and research faculty across the university as well as support staff and students who work together on the TLEF project teams.

In 2025/26, approximately $1.56 million in TLEF-awarded funding will employ over 260 UBC students to support the development, implementation and evaluation of TLEF projects.

2024/25 Student Reach

TLEF projects funded in 2024/25 reached 29,935 student enrollments in Small TLEF Innovation projects and 27,172 student enrollments in Large TLEF Transformation projects. Overall, the projects reached 245 unique courses (undergraduate and graduate) across 671 sections in 12 Faculties and Vantage College at the UBCV campus, impacting 56,198 student enrollments taken by 25,455 unique students.
