| Project Summary | There is a serious shortage of nurse leaders which can detrimentally influence patient outcomes and nursing work environments. Past studies illustrated the importance of nursing education to facilitate the development and preparation of effective nurse leaders. This education must be evidence-based and delivered to students in a manner that fosters their learning and responds to the growing need to deliver education in diverse and strategic ways. Given that most nurses in leadership positions require graduate level preparation it is timely to redesign current graduate leadership education. The main objective of this project is to redesign and revise the course N512 Leadership in Nursing in a manner that supports graduate students’ learning and uptake of leadership knowledge, skills, and abilities in an online format. We will accomplish this objective by synthesizing the most relevant knowledge in leadership theory and practice within course revisions and redesigning the online delivery format. Student learning will be evaluated as a key component of this project. |
