New Web-based Platforms for Collaborative and Contextual Learning in UBC’s Korean Language Programme

Title New Web-based Platforms for Collaborative and Contextual Learning in UBC’s Korean Language Programme
Faculty/College/Unit Arts
Status Active
Duration 1 Year
Initiation 04/01/2017
Project Summary

Building on work funded more than a decade ago by both UBC’s TLEF and the Korea Foundation, this new project seeks to further enhance the learning experience for UBC students in all levels of the Korean language program. We seek to expand on the ‘learner-centred’ tools created previously to create new tools for contextual learning and online student collaboration. In order to facilitate the creation of blended classrooms in which students are engaged outside of the class just as much as they are in class, this project utilizes interactive tools such as LingQ and CLAS.
