Project Summary | The demand for composite materials is constantly increasing in a number of advanced applications like aerospace, wind energy, and recreational products. Composite materials education needs to keep up with demand while attracting new engineers to the industry. The content of the composite materials engineering courses offered at UBC is constantly updated, however, the method in which it is delivered would benefit from updated teaching technologies. The purpose of this project is to create multimedia teaching material in the form of videos and associated data sets that instructors can use to make their courses more engaging and teach more effectively. Explanatory videos as well as virtual laboratories will be created. The intended outcome is to train more students in the field of composite materials, make them ready for jobs in industry, support the needs of the Canadian manufacturing industry, and ultimately, make Canada more competitive in the field of composite materials. |
