| Project Summary | Climate at UBC will engage students with the dynamics of climate processes and climate change using data measured by UBC researchers. Interactive applets that combine real-time measurements of UBC's own climate station as well as other climate research sites in BC, combined with historical data and physical models, are designed to meet specific learning goals in various courses across campus (AGRO, AGSC, ATSC, ENVR, GEOG, SOIL) and provide the basis for student projects. The applets will be publicly available in a modular architecture so they can be embedded in various front-end systems (course web pages, in-classroom presentations, mobile devices and digital signage). This modular approach, together with the interactive and real-time component makes them highly flexible and suitable for numerous learning components (classroom, assignment, labs, projects). |
