This project seeks funding to develop electronic resources and support tools to help faculty with practical techniques for evaluation, assignment marking, giving assignment feedback, and to help develop standardized practice, increase consistency, and better support students. The resources developed will help faculty select appropriate techniques, facilitate the marking, grading and administering of feedback for a variety of student assignments (both electronic and otherwise). Faculty will be able to access these resources via their desktop computers and a secure Web interface, and undertake the following activities:
Access a Web-based Student Evaluation Resource Centre
Explore a range of evaluation techniques and communicate with other faculty using them
Select from a variety of pre-formatted grading templates
Create and upload their own personalized assignment templates
Access standardized student feedback sheets and preformatted exemplars
Access to best practice white papers
Access tools to help faculty facilitate blind marking practices
Access an Online Evaluation Builder Application (Evaluation Wizard)
to facilitate the process and promote ease of grading, recording, and comparison of grading between instructors and/or years of courses etc, and also to identify and guide faculty through moderation procedures (to improve consistency of marking)
to provide tools to set up marking schemes for new assignments and automatically generate standardized grading and feedback forms
