Project Summary | Nuxalk-Carrier Grease Trail Storytelling Project: Creating Indigenous Digital Pathways is situated on unceded territories of Tsilhqot’in, Southern Dakelh, and Secwepemc First Nations. The Grease Trail Storytelling project aims to strengthen and expand Dine-Athabaskan Indigenous curriculum in existing blended learning programs that includes online platforms along with experiential learning opportunities (including ongoing reflection). In acknowledgement of reconciliation, digital storytelling embraces language and digital literacy for Indigenous learners to develop open educational resources that actively engage with diversity and inclusion in teaching and learning contexts. The Grease Trail Storytelling Project engage Indigenous Teacher Candidates residing in rural North-Central BC communities who are often excluded in online learning environments, both as producers and consumers, thereby addressing educational digital divides. Indigenous Teacher Candidates enrolled in the Indigenous Teacher Education Program (NITEP) Cariboo Field Centre will create open Indigenous digital storytelling resources intended to be used in Northern British Columbia communities and schools to enhance accessibility of educational resources. |
