Project Summary | Physical therapy students, nurse practitioner students and family practice residents are required to complete research projects during their second year. Presently there is no collaboration across professions to complete this work and the students/residents proceed with guidance from mentors, clinical and academic faculty mainly from their own professional background. In this study students/residents from these professional courses will be brought together to design and complete their research projects, with the aim of promoting interprofessional practice, inter-faculty collaboration, student/resident satisfaction, and high quality research projects. This pilot will allow us to evaluate the processes of this inter-professional approach, assess resident and student interest in offering this to a larger audience, and to gauge the feasibility of adding other professions into the program in future. The vision is to promote future UBC inter-professional research across all levels (undergraduate and postgraduate students, residents, junior and senior faculty). |
