Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF)
The Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF) was created in 1991 with the aim of enriching student learning experience by supporting innovative and effective educational enhancements. This fund is exclusively financed by a portion of the student tuition paid to UBC Vancouver. Annually, the Office of the Provost invites applications for TLEF funding, seeking initiatives that will enhance the student learning experience within the university.
TLEF categories:
Large TLEF: This category focuses on advancing UBC’s strategic goals related to transformative learning. Large TLEF projects typically aspire to impact multiple courses or programs across UBC-V. [The typical range of award is $200,000]
Small TLEF: Geared towards supporting experimentation with pedagogical approaches, this Small TLEF category is aimed at initiatives that have strong potential to enhance the experiences of learners. Small TLEF projects typically have a smaller scope and scale compared to Large TLEF projects. [The typical range of award is $50,000]
