Project Summary

This project seeks to develop web-based multimedia course materials to teach alphabet and basic reading and writing skills to heritage students of Persian using an innovative project-based interactive story reading technique. The project's aims are three-fold.

  1. To transfer and centralize the current interactive stories, tasks and projects as well as formative tests for Persian courses onto an open source, web-based, multimedia, interactive course material using Pressbooks and H5P.
  2. To enhance and update the current interactive stories and tasks with illustrations, videos, audios, etc. and to add more stories to them.
  3. To create an online portal to archive heritage students' projects and to enhance and prepare them for public and educational use. The latter seeks to provide an opportunity for students to express their unique characters as heritage speaker of Persian and connect them to the heritage community at large.
