Project Summary

CSP’s objective is to be an engaging interdisciplinary first-year science program that will provide students with a much richer educational experience than the mainstream program, through a cost-effective and sustainable approach.

The rationale behind the creation and development of the CSP program comes from our belief that we can provide our students with a much richer educational experience than the mainstream program by coordinating the teaching of the different science courses and by explicitly making connections between them.

Our main methods of achieving the above objective are:

  1. To hold weekly meetings to coordinate the teaching team’s efforts;
  2. To run weekly interdisciplinary workshops for the students;
  3. To provide a social climate for the students that is conducive to learning.

Items 1 and 3 require little or no funding. Almost the entire funding request is for the continuation and improvement of the workshops.
