|Year 1: Summary
Students from a wide range of disciplines will be provided with learning tools to facilitate kinesthetic, spatial, and structural understanding of objects and systems. By generating a library of 3D files from objects, we will be able to generate interactive virtual models, 3D printed materials, and other valuable resources for learning in online and classroom settings. At the development and implementation phases, student involvement in this project will also generate unique, advanced opportunities for training in a rapidly developing field. We will offer full support to instructors who wish to employ 3D technology to address learning objectives, ensuring both efficient and effective use of equipment and expertise on campus.

|Year 2: Summary
Students from a wide range of disciplines were provided with learning tools to facilitate spatial and structural understanding of objects in virtual environments. By generating 3D virtual objects, we have been able to create interactive virtual models for learning in online settings. Current work has provided support to courses with required labs during the flip to fully online learning and we will continue to support enhanced learning opportunities through the university’s recovery period.
Student involvement in this project has generated unique, advanced opportunities for training in a rapidly evolving field. In Year 2, we will continue to offer support to instructors who wish to employ 3D technology by providing a centralized source of information on use of virtual resources and continued production of virtual objects. New projects in Year 2 will also develop interactive 3D models and virtual environments as learning tools for applied studies in a variety of disciplines.
