Project Summary

We propose to develop 12 enhanced video PODcasts to be used as supporting material to help students better prepare and learn from their laboratory experience in CHBE 262, Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry Laboratory, over 90 students are expected to be registered in CHBE 262 for the upcoming academic year. The PODcasts will integrate actual video of the experimental procedures, with embedded flash quizzes that will interrupt the video and engage students to answer questions regarding the underlying conceptual knowledge and experimental hypotheses. The final PODcasts will also incorporate a Self Contained Object Reference Model (SCORM) wrapper that will enable the learning interactions be tracked by our course management system. The Centre for Instructional Support has extensive experience in the development of this kind of media.
