Project Summary

The goal of this project is to develop curriculum and create an academic foundation for an Inter professional Health and Human Services course that captures holistic Aboriginal health care approaches to healing and disease prevention practices, to affirm Aboriginal Traditional Knowledge as valuable knowledge, and to enhance student’s cultural competency in the health disciplines and inter professional health settings. The curriculum will be developed with the Aboriginal community as well as UBC students. The curriculum will consist of a range of learning experiences, including lectures, interactive engagement with the Aboriginal community, videos, guest lectures, field trips and hands-on projects.
