Project Summary | For the past several decades the business world has come to realize that a successful venture is not measured JUST by profit. ‘Social Entrepreneurship’ has emerged as a new form of business; utilizing market based mechanisms for social purposes. Based on this new and growing concept, the goal of the proposed pilot project, “Business of Change” is to provide students with an understanding of social entrepreneurship (SE), by encouraging them to understand and apply SE methods in real life and work situations. We will achieve this goal by: 1) Developing a program that will challenge business students to utilize SE skills they have learned through their studies; 2) Providing students with opportunities to apply these skills in local and international, social and business enterprises; and 3) Developing partnerships with internal, international and local social enterprise agents in order to provide students with service learning experiences |
