Year 1: Summary | The Faculty of Education recently approved a re-visioned teacher education program for September 2012 which includes a new required course for all Teacher Candidates, EDUC 440, Aboriginal Education. We intend to
In this way, all 800 (approximately) teachers who graduate from the new program in the spring of 2013 and beyond will have received a thorough education in Aboriginal topics. Through this project our goal is to respond meaningfully to the feedback summary from UBC’s Aboriginal Strategic Plan that advocates for "...the need to include Indigenous knowledge and epistemologies through the development of Aboriginal curriculum". |
