|Developing a Sustainable Culture of Ethics Education at the Sauder School

This project aims to foster a culture of ethical knowledge, behavior, and leadership in business/management education through a variety of student-led co-curricular initiatives, as well as faculty-led, evidence-based curriculum and instruction interventions. More specifically, this project will involve:
a) Curricular interventions: redesigning courses to integrate outcomes assessment of business ethics across the curriculum
b) Co-curricular interventions: developing personal ethics plans, organizing lecture series, community mentorship opportunities.
c) Measurement and evidence of ethics learning through outcomes assessment, scholarly evaluation of redesigned courses, curriculum mapping, and psychological/behavior testing of moral development and ethical behaviour.
This project heavily involves graduate students as co-applicants from the Philosophy department - they have been instrumental in providing input into this proposal and have already piloted an ethical leadership project that we hope can be further expanded through this grant. In addition, this project is interdisciplinary in nature as it aims to integrate a broader, liberal education in business education in the long run by involving more graduate students/faculty from the humanities and social sciences.
