Project Summary

The overall aim of this project is to engage students in their roles as learners, teachers, and researchers in contributing to the university’s understanding and strategic direction related to the question “What does it take for flexible learning initiatives to be successful?” This can be seen as a program assessment project that will be initiated in September 2013 and will involve several phases over the next five years. Representatives from the Alma Mater Society and the Graduate Student Society will be involved in the project.

Elements of the project will include identifying shared metrics for assessing the student experience across flexible learning projects; creating opportunities for students to engage as learners, teaching assistants, and research assistants to document and share “lived experience” from within flexible learning projects and courses; and creating a student designed video resource to support an orientation to flexible learning.
