Project Summary | Creating interactive web-based multimedia resources incorporating H5P and authentic materials related to EDI and indigenous content for four 100% asynchronous first-year and two second-year Japanese language courses. The materials are being incorporated in hybrid and in-person sections and used as review materials for higher-level courses, potentially reaching over 1000 students yearly. Students can learn, practice and review at their own pace and receive instant feedback so they do not have to wait for office hours or responses to emails if they do not understand a concept. For other courses, the materials will free up class time for communicative exercises. The materials are created based on feedback from students and faculty, reflect the goals of the program, build on 15 years of experience teaching asynchronous courses and innovations developed during synchronous online and hybrid teaching during the pandemic, increase accessibility and flexibility, and involve students as partners in content development. |
