| Project Summary | CDST (Canadian Cultural Studies), the first modular course to be taught in the faculty (four modules; four profs), has consistently over-enrolled in the three years of its first iteration. The second iteration of the course will see a shift in focus as the course will now satisfy the recently approved agreement for student/faculty exchange that UBC has signed with the University of Washington (Seattle). The course will focus on Canada/U.S. cross-border issues in three (not four modules, with one module of the course to be taught at the partner institution. The project’s object is thus to integrate learning across disciplinary and institutional boundaries; its rationale derives from the notion that knowledge is increasingly to be found at the interfaces of traditional areas of study. |
