| Duration | 2 Year |
| Initiation | 04/01/2026 |
| Project Summary | The PULSE project aims to enhance the Pharmacy Practice Lab (PPL) curriculum in the PharmD program using the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework. PPLs simulate outpatient and inpatient clinical settings and support the development of skills through high-fidelity learning activities and assessments. Activities within PPLs include standardized patient interactions, small-group discussions, and objective structured clinical examinations. Redesigned PPLs will become more flexible and inclusive, accommodating diverse student needs, preferences, and abilities through multiple means of engagement, representation, and action and expression, as outlined in the UDL guidelines. With this redesign, we aim to enhance the application of knowledge and the development of skills such as critical thinking, patient care, and communication to more effectively prepare students for professional practice. At the same time, we will maintain a high degree of authenticity and accountability in simulating real-world pharmacy practice. |
