Project Summary

This project aims to develop engaging, interactive online modules for Year 3 medical students to prepare for simulation based academic sessions. The Island Medical Program has a comprehensive simulation curriculum consisting of 12 sessions during the clerkship year. The simulations help enhance clinical skills, meet Academic Half Day objectives and expose students to critical emergency scenarios that are essential for competency development, but are not frequently encountered during routine clerkship. Currently, students access varied preparation materials. We propose creating engaging, targeted, flexible modules to consolidate and substitute the current pre-reading and lectures. These modules will enable students to review essential concepts beforehand at their own pace and maximize their hands-on learning during simulation. All materials will be mapped to clerkship curricular objectives. By fostering deeper understanding and better preparation, this initiative will strengthen clinical competencies, improve confidence, and ultimately enhance patient care skills, supporting our commitment to innovative medical education.
