| Duration | 1 Year |
| Initiation | 04/01/2026 |
| Project Summary | Foundational and clinical concepts in Periodontics (gum health and disease) are often presented in ways that are complex, creating barriers for dental students who must translate knowledge into clinical practice. While traditional textbooks remain important references, there is increasing potential for e-books to be more than digitized versions of printed materials. With multimedia capabilities, e-books can function as interactive learning environments, integrating advanced illustrations, videos, animations, mindmaps, case-based scenarios, and self-assessment quizzes that allow students to explore and apply knowledge more effectively. The overarching goal is to integrate key principles of Clinical Periodontics through multimedia resources that support comprehension, improved conceptual understanding, clinical reasoning, accessibility and long-term retention through the use of evidence-based multimedia instructional design and a learner-centered approach to instructional technology. |
