Project Summary

ECON 101 is a large introductory course that many students take early on. It enrols students from many programs across Arts, Science, and other Faculties. At present, much of the core content is delivered through lecture, with limited time for active practice and application in class. This project will redesign ECON 101 as a blended course organized around 13 weekly modules. Each module will include approximately 8–10 short lightboard videos introducing key concepts, along with online practice activities aligned with in-person work. Weekly lectures will shift from content delivery to recap and guided problem-solving, while TA-led discussion sections will focus on structured applications. The goal is to make ECON 101 more engaging and accessible for a diverse cohort of students and to highlight the breadth of real-world applications of core economic ideas.
