Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF)

The Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF) was created in 1991 to enrich student learning by supporting innovative and effective educational enhancements. It is financed entirely by a portion of the student tuition paid to UBC Vancouver. Each year, the Provost invites applications for TLEF funding for initiatives that will improve the student learning experience at our university.

The 2027/28 call for Large TLEF Transformation projects opens on June 2, 2026. The call for Small TLEF Innovation projects will open in early September 2026.

Ideas for all Large TLEF proposals that involve Faculty of Medicine Programs must first be reviewed by the 2026 Faculty of Medicine TLEF Review Advisory Council prior to starting the TLEF online application.

UBC Central TLEF Adjudication Committee will be reviewing proposals in early December 2026. Results and funding will be announced by December 2026.
