| Project Summary | Curriculum mapping visualizes what is taught and how it is taught and assessed. It encourages faculty to think beyond individual courses and consider how students experience a program. Thus, informing evidence-based decision making about course content and/or teaching practices. It enhances students’ comprehension of course connections, improving their understanding of programmatic goals and requirements. However, curriculum mapping is a time consuming and complex process, especially with no tools at UBCV that fully support this work. We propose to collaborate with UBCO to further develop a curriculum mapping tool to integrate functionality required by UBCV academic units. This will allow curriculum mapping data to be paired with learning analytics furthering the ability of academic units to make evidence-based decisions about curriculum renewal. The proposed tool modelling capabilities will communicate to students how key concepts, learning activities, and assessments are connected across courses, improving student learning and experience in academic programs. |
