Project Summary | *Special Call: Hybrid and Multi-Access Course Redesign Project* As a small seminar-style course, SCIE 113 teaches skills and knowledge central to all scientific disciplines concerning the process and enterprise of science, how science impacts our world, and how to effectively communicate science. This highly collaborative project involves strategic partnerships to renew the curriculum to build a flexible hybrid pedagogical approach integrating online and in-person learning to facilitate expanding SCIE 113 to all first-year and transfer students in Science. Aligned with strategic goals in Science and the University’s Indigenous Strategic Plan, we have identified three central pillars to guide curricular and pedagogical development in SCIE 113:
As a new BSc degree requirement, it is an ideal place to facilitate learning about Indigenous ways of knowing and to help students thrive in their transition to UBC. |
