Project Summary | UBC students don't get enough practice with public speaking or interviews. To their detriment, this means students struggle to find job placements and do not have the communication skills required for the workforce. Sauder students receive practice through their course COMM 395 - Business Communications; they enjoy the limited practice, particularly the feedback given, and the ability to view themselves with recordings. However, this course is restricted to one semester and unavailable to other faculties. The Student Speaking Simulator solves this by providing a full room experience using projectors to replicate a live audience, and provides UBC students with the opportunity to practice and develop their speaking skills year-round. The Simulator also records your performance and key metrics, and provides feedback for improvement. Not exclusive to public speaking, the Simulator can be used for interview preparation, boardroom meetings, etc., and reproduce any real world situation. |
