The objectives and rationale are:

  • To provide professional development for two groups within the UBC community of international graduate students, both teaching assistants and graduate researchers.
  • To foster effective teaching techniques and Intercultural Communication skills among International TAs.
  • To foster effective academic communication techniques among international graduate researchers who will be participating in seminars, meetings and professional conferences.
  • Thus positively affecting the learning of thousands of UBC undergraduate students in all faculties and strengthening UBC’s commitment to internationalization.
