Project Summary

Objective:

To foster effective teaching techniques and lntertcultural Communication skills among International Teaching Assistants and International Faculty, thus positively affecting the learning of thousands of UBC undergraduate students in all faculties.

Rationale and Methods:

  • Weekly interactive teaching performance workshops which include instructor and peer evaluation and feedback and video analysis.
  • One on one coaching to build effective teaching and communications strategies to fit the Canadian educational environments and the distinct requirements of each academic field.
  • Follow up electronic support for participants as they build on skills developed through the workshops and coaching.
