Project Summary

Under the goals for Learning, the Trek 2010 Operational Plan calls for fostering "a sense of social awareness and global responsibility." More particularly the Plan suggests that UBC should accomplish this by "assisting faculty members" in ensuring "that all students develop a greater awareness of their responsibilities as global citizens and of the issues surrounding social, environmental, and economic sustainability." This proposal seeks funding to accomplish this specific goal in the sociology curriculum. Beyond sociology, the proposal also suggests how work on this particular curriculum reform can play a beneficial role for other units on campus.
