Project Summary | The University of British Columbia possesses an active group of scholars and teachers, within the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Law, whose research interests focus on the field of Law and Society. To date, however, UBC has no undergraduate teaching program in this field. Yet, Law and Society majors and minors are common around North America, and they have proved pedagogically exciting and popular with students. This proposal seeks to create such a program, by employing faculty and graduate assistants to design a Law and Society minor for approval by the Faculty of Arts in 2008-09 and by publicizing the new program amongst the undergraduate student body in preparation for its launching in 2009-10. |
