Project Summary | A new open-source electronics board based on modern open-source microcontroller technology will be designed and constructed (www.wiring.org.co/, www.arduino.cc/), with the goal of directly addressing the limitations of the existing "toy" board used in the second-year course Physics 253, "Introduction to Instrument Design". The new microcontroller platform will allow for student interaction and skills development using tools much closer to those used in industrial and research in software and electronics tools. A student review committee was formed to assist in reviewing the attached proposal, and to oversee the development of design criteria and microcontroller evaluation. |
