Project Summary | The project is to fund three workshops to provide training to law faculty in diversity pedagogy. Workshop I: Overview of Diversity Pedagogy This is an introductory workshop offered to all instructors at the law faculty. This workshop will introduce diversity pedagogy. The focus will be on providing techniques for facilitating constructive conversation on equity topics and on responding productively to difficult student interactions and interventions on such topics. Workshop II: Engaging the Small Class The second workshop will cater specifically to first year instructors (approx. 25 - 30) by providing instruction on how to maximize diversity pedagogy for classes of 40 students, (the size of the average first year class under full implementation of the Faculty's curricular reforms). Workshop Ill: Practice and Feedback This third workshop will be offer to faculty an opportunity to actively workshop models of pedagogy geared to issues identified in the previous two workshops. |
