Project Summary | There is a notable gap between projects that focus on ‘greening campuses’ and those focusing on teaching and learning outcomes. The aim of the proposed project is to implement the pilot phase of an undergraduate course that integrates the two perspectives. The course curriculum has been submitted to the Senate’s Curriculum Committee (enclosed). The course, building upon and partnering with the SEEDS program, will be open for students from six partner Faculties. It will be interdisciplinary and integrate undergraduate teaching with research at UBC. Last but not least, it will integrate teaching, learning and research on sustainability at UBC with sustainable development of UBC’s Planning and Operations. The intricate structure of the course demands careful planning. It will therefore be open only to a small number of 3-4 year students during a two year long pilot phase (ca 50) and thereafter open up to a larger number of students. |
