Project Summary | Gait analysis is an important tool for clinical health professionals to master as treatment outcomes are directly related to the skills used in assessing walking disorders. Currently there is no systematic approach for teaching gait analysis to health science students. The goal of this project is to create an online teaching tool that gives clinicians a systematic approach for assessing gait from a qualitative perspective and to give insight into the quantitative approach of computerized gait analysis. A long-term goal for this project is to create a platform that will help in the teaching of different neuromuscular disorders to any number of disciplines. To achieve this goal, we will create three online modules: (1) a video-based module to teach standardized physical assessment, (2) a video-based module to teach observational gait analysis, and (3) an interactive module to understand neuromuscular disorders through computerized gait analysis. |
