Project Summary | This application supports the development of web-based self-teaching modules for use in the Faculty of Applied Sciences, particularly the Department of Civil Engineering. These modules will enhance student learning by (1) providing ready access to necessary software packages, and (2) providing students with substantial advantages (i.e. practical software experience) on their co-op applications. These modules will also help to minimize the number of valuable lecture hours that are currently spent in introducing the basic operations of engineering software. This project will reduce instructional redundancy by allowing faculty members to share their already-developed teaching materials (e.g. assignments and instructional videos). Furthermore, these modules will provide useful support for students in other departments and programs throughout the university, particularly engineering design teams. This project will collate all currently available teaching materials and resources into a single website, providing students and faculty members with ready access to a library of basic self-teaching modules. |
