Year 2: Summary

The objectives of this project are to 1) continue to build the Material Resource Library, a physical building materials library and online building materials database for the Architecture Program and 2) to create the Landscape Architecture Materials Library, a new physical facility located in MacMillan Hall, for the enhancement of Teaching, Learning & Research for The School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (SALA). Through the required technical and materials courses in the curriculums of the Masters programs in Architecture (ARCH) and Landscape Architecture (LARC) and the Bachelors program in Environmental Design (ENDS), all SALA students will have myriad opportunities to utilize the Materials Libraries. The collection will provide online profiles and physical samples of current product materials with an emphasis on local, sustainable and contemporary products. These library facilities will provide an environment for student, faculty and course engagement with the materials and to promote learning and generate research.
