Project Summary

iPeer is a UBC developed open source web-based application that allows instructors to simply and efficiently incorporate peer evaluation into their courses when they are using team and group work. (www.sourceforge.net/projects/ipeer) This project proposes to integrate iPeer with BlackBoard Learn by constructing what is known as a “building block.” This will let iPeer directly plug into BlackBoard Learn, and student roster data will be seamlessly available in iPeer, and evaluation results will be directly available in the BlackBoard Learn grade book. This integration will greally reduce administrative overhead, improve usability, and likely lead to greater adoption of iPeer. The project will build off an existing relationship between Applied Science and the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology. Both units have consistentiy contributed to iPeer’ development with programming resources. Both units will contribute resources to this integration project but will require some additional one time funding.
