Project Summary | This project will address new teaching and learning needs in Music Technology offerings in the School of Music. This project will create new resources — software applications, instructional videos, digital images, and hard copy course pack materials — to enhance instruction and learning in MUSC 119 Introduction to Music Technology, MUSC319 Introduction to Electroacoustic Music, MUSC32O Introduction to Computer Music, MUSC4O3C Laptop Sounds and Sensors (the UBC laptop orchestra), and the graduate composition student Sound Studio Orientation at ICICS. As well, this project will transfer some of the results of current UBC research in music technology to the undergraduate curriculum. Creation of these resources at UBC will also ensure continuing compliance with copyright regulations. This project will affect up to 100 students each year, with the students coming from a variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs including Music, Arts, Visual Arts, Engineering, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, and Psychology. |
