Project Summary | The purpose of this project is to develop, deliver, and evaluate an Integrated E-Health Curriculum for use across the health and human services programs at UBC, using a proven model developed as part of the TLEF funded integrated ethics curriculum. Under the umbrella of ‘UBC Health,’ the health professional programs at UBC are moving towards an integrated approach to health professional education that supports learning that is unique to each profession, seeks economies of scale for foundational knowledge common to all programs by leveraging technology, and creates relevant opportunities for interprofessional learning in complex areas of healthcare. The UBC Health Council has identified E-Health as the second integrated curriculum topic, as it resonates across all professions and areas of practice and is critical in today’s world of complex, often technology enhanced healthcare. The integrated approach to health professional education allows programs to replace existing content with common learning and enhances teaching and learning by integrating interprofessional concepts into uni-disciplinary teaching and by making interprofessional learning a required component of programs, rather than an add-on. |
