Project Summary | This project involves the planning, implementation and evaluation of an on-line self-study learning module to better prepare pharmacy students for their institutional clerkship course, PHAR 489. The planning phase will include a needs analysis, completed using focus group interviews and survey methodology to determine students’ and preceptors’ views of the specific difficulties students have transitioning from the classroom to the institutional setting and suggestions for content in the learning module. The module will be designed using learning-centred principles, with appropriate objectives and learning and assessment activities, by a team that includes faculty and students. The module will be reviewed by students and preceptors, and modified as appropriate, then offered to students via Connect. The effectiveness of the module will be evaluated through surveys of students and preceptors and through a comparison of the students’ performance in PHAR 489 with that in past years, prior to introduction of the module. |
