Project Summary | This application is to support the development of a two-hour Engineering Design Tutorial Workshop in general engineering designing. The intent of this workshop is to give students experience in designing process earlier in their academic programs, developing greater student interest in developing skills necessary for their careers, and developing greater engagement in a core first-year engineering course. Selection of design projects and resources for the workshop are yet to be determined (most likely we will use free or open-source software and low-cost hardware easily available from online vendors), but it will allow students to initiate development of essential skills for their engineering careers. Initial TLEF funding will provide resources for one or two two-hour workshops for all 800+ first-year Engineering Students through APSC15. These modules will be integrated with one of four existing case sutdy modules for the course. |
