Duration | 1 Year |
Initiation | 04/01/2014 |
Project Summary | The project will conduct a one-term transition course (BIOL 234-103) in which materials from Useful Genetics (a UBC-sponsored MOOC) will be converted into a blended UBC credit course (BIOL 233 – Genetic for Life) that will fill the same program objectives as BIOL 234 (Fundamentals of Genetics). BIOL 234 emphasizes research, whereas Useful Genetics emphasizes personal and societal relevance. The new course will provide a welcome accredited alternative for the majority of students whose goals do not include research by making optimal use of online resources and better meeting the needs of these students. |
