Project Summary

This renewal of the Integrated Curriculum (IC) will enhance accessibility and sustainability for 2400 health professional students across 15 programs and five provincial sites. The project’s focus is on decolonizing the IC, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, and removing barriers to student learning. Integral to this process is the involvement of the Centre for Excellence in Indigenous Health (CEIH) as the Indigenous Cultural Safety (ICS) modules are embedded in the IC. The IC will be updated by:

  1. revising online modules and workshop materials through a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) lens, informed by cultural safety principles;
  2. developing resources to reduce barriers for students at distributed sites;
  3. updating technology to ensure accessibility and sustainability; and
  4. collaborating with regional communities to co-create learning materials reflecting their histories, values, and contexts.

These efforts will support a more inclusive, culturally safe, and sustainable learning environment.
