Project Summary | This project will develop interactive, experiential simulation-based learning module resources for Family Studies, Psychology, and Sociology, immersing students in scenarios that require them to apply theory, think critically, and make informed decisions. By placing students in complex, decision-based roles with real-time feedback, the modules bridge academic knowledge and practical experience, enhancing learning and knowledge retention (Kong, 2021; Lund et al., 2024). Each module strengthens critical thinking and prepares students for real-world challenges. Interactive simulations embedded in each module prompt students to consider contexts discussed in courses, focusing on decision-making and problem-solving. Insights gained through the simulations will be reinforced through tailored classroom activities and assessments, deepening students’ engagement and comprehension. A modular design, made into Open Educational Resources (OERs) through a UBC supported WordPress site, supports sustainability and scalability across courses, offering long-term benefits and adaptability to evolving learning needs, with potential for broader integration across disciplines. |
