The 2022/23 TLEF funding round is complete. The TLEF has awarded $2,170,582 in funding to 10 Large TLEF Transformation projects and 44 Small TLEF Innovation projects. A total of 54 new and returning TLEF projects were funded out of a pool of 75 applications submitted for funding from faculty, staff and students at the UBC Vancouver campus.
Approximately $1.18 million on the TLEF-awarded funding this year will employ over 160 UBC graduate and undergraduate students on TLEF project teams. TLEF projects provide an opportunity for students, faculty and staff members to partner together to enhance student learning by working on innovative and effective educational enhancements. Students support the development, implementation and evaluation of the projects as teaching assistants, graduate/undergraduate research or academic assistants, Co-op and Work Learn students.

The TLEF supports UBC’s strategic plan Shaping UBC’s Next Century, by advancing transformative learning at the university. It is funded entirely through a portion of UBC Vancouver student tuition. Since its inception in 1991, the Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF) has supported more than 1,200 teaching and learning projects.
Congratulations to the project teams who received funding for their projects.
