| Project Summary | The Bachelor of Indigenous Land Stewardship (ILS) is a new four-year undergraduate credit program offered by the Faculty of Forestry that aims to prepare both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students for careers working with and for Indigenous governments on land stewardship. The program combines Indigenous and western knowledge, with an experienced team of First Nations and non-First Nations professionals and educators co-creating and co-delivering the courses. Following extensive consultation with First Nations communities, we propose redesigning the ILS program courses for multi-access, to support learners and knowledge holders on both the Point Grey campus and in more remote communities. For many students limited in their ability to attend in-person classes because of remoteness or commitment to self-governance, this redesign will enhance their interest in, access to, and participation in the courses. We propose improved accessibility with live streaming and recording options for all lecture-focused courses. |
