Project Summary

This proposal is directed toward facilitating technology use in the Faculty of Science, by providing a multi-layer support system. Monies are requested to establish a student-driven technology drop-in help centre, fund “just-in-time” technology workshops for teaching assistants and faculty, fund nine department-based student technology helpers and to provide partial funding for a Faculty-wide support position.

This proposal has the following objectives:

  1. Foster a technology-familiar culture in the Faculty of Science.
  2. To increase logistical support for technology enhanced courses within the Faculty of Science.
  3. To provide or call attention to the opportunities for technology training for both graduate and undergraduate students.
  4. To promote the use of appropriate technologies in teaching and learning.
  5. The results of this project will be used to devise an educational technology plan for the Faculty of Science.
